DAY 1 : CUSCO - SOUTH VALLEY- OCONGATE 3400masl
We will pick you up at your hotel at 8:00am. We will head south out of Cusco by bus, stopping at the Tipon, Piquillacta , and the Chapel of Andahuaylillas. By noon we will be in the town of Urcos, where we will eat lunch. Then we will head east on the interoceanic highway, until we reach the town of Ocongate. It is about a 3 hour ride. There we will stay in a simple hostal with amenities typically enjoyed by high mountain travelers.

DAY 2 : OCONGATE-PASO HUALLA HUALLA (4800masl) QORI ÑACCHA 5000masl KIKO KUCHO 4000masl.
We will wake up early(5:00am) and jump aboard our bus for the 2 hour ride to Chectacucho. This is where our trek starts. We will meet up with our Qeros Indian guides, who will have llamas ready to carry our backpacks, and saddle horses in case you want to ride. We will head up to the Qoriñaccha (5000masl). It should take us about 3 hours to cover the 5 klicks. When we get to the top, we will be surrounded by high mountain lakes and wild birds and vicuñas. There will be snow-capped peaks all around us. We will stop for a meditation and the papacho will offer coca to the apus. Then we head down for the next 3 hours until we arrive at QORI ÑACCHA MOUNTAIN, where we will pitch camp at 4000masl

DAY 3 : KIKO KUCHO CAMP 4000masl-. PASO PUCA ORCCO4300masl. – AYLLU CHARCAPATA 3900masl
On this 3rd day, we will wake up with the first rays of the Sun. After breakfast, by 7:00am, we’ll be hiking up toward PUCA ORCCO (4300masl). It is a 4 hour walk. Now we will be in Qeros territory. We can head down hill now for the 3 hour trek to the CCOLPA CUCHO (4100masl) and CHARCAPATA (4000masl) communities. There we will set up camp and visit friends. There is a school here called Munay Tika. It is so far from anything that the kids always run out of pencils and pens. So it would be great if you remember to bring some along to give to the children. The lifestyle here is very peaceful. Nature is dominant in the life of these farmers, shepherds, and weavers. In the evening there will be an optional lecture all about the coca leaf. And the chaman will offer thanks to Pachamama. (Mother Earth).

DAY 4 : AYLLU COMMUNITY CHARCAPATA(3900masl)-CCOCHAMOCCO—CHULLUPAMPA
After breakfast around 7:00am, we will stop by the school and meet the kids. At 9:00am we will start hiking up to the village of CCOCHA MOCCO (4400masl.). We will arrive there by lunchtime and we’ll eat lunch with the women and children of the village. After lunch we have a downhill trek to the village of Chalmachimpana, and then on to our campsite at Chullupampa. There we will share supper with the Qeros Indians in Qeros style.

DAY 5 : CHULLUPAMPA- COMMUNITY TANTAÑA4100 mas-PAUCARTAMBO-OLLANTAYTAMBO
After an early breakfast we will hike for 45 minutes to the village of Tantaña, where we can check out the handicrafts manufactured by the local people. Mostly you will see intricately patterned textiles made of alpaca and vicuña. It‘s also a great way to get to know the local folks. We can stop by their homes and make some friends. At 9:00am, we’ll start our uphill trek to the beautiful WILLKA KUNCA PASS(4800masl.) This is the last high mountain pass on our trek, and when we reach the highest point, we will once again meditate and offer coca to the apus, while the condors fly by and the world stands still. Then we head down for about 3 hours to klm. 16 of the nearest roadway, where our bus will be waiting for us. Then we’ll ride in style to Ollantaytambo via CHUA CHUA and PAUCARTAMBO. It is about a 4 hour ride. When we reach Ollantaytambo, we will check into our hotel and take a hot shower.

DAY 6 (OPCIONAL): MACHUPICCHU-ARQUEOLOGICAL-SITE
The next morning the first train leaves at 6:40am and we’ll be on it. We will reach Aguas Calientes in an hour and 40 minutes. Then we will catch the bus for the 15 minute ride up to Machu Picchu. Perhaps you might want to climb up Huayna Picchu. Then you can explore the entire complex with your guide. In the late afternoon we will catch the 5:00pm train to Ollantaytambo, and then travel by bus to Cusco.
