PROGRAM : FULL DAY: CUSCO-ABRA MALAGA-TANCAJ-OLLANTAYATAMBO
In the morning we will travel by van up to the ABRA MALAGA ( MALAGA PASS 4315 masl). From there we still have to travel up a little higher to the traditional starting point of the world famous race. There we will ready ourselves, and put on our protective gear. We’ll go over our bike, and do some cals. Then we’ll start out slowly while we get into rhythm. The actual descent is very vertical, fast, difficult and technically challenging. It is full of obstcles, jumps, single trucks and radicals. It is really a route for good riders. The time of the descent varies from a half hour to an hour and a half, depending upon the technical skill of the rider. Some professional European riders have made it down in under 25 minutes. One came in in 21 minutes. The route includes extreme jumps fit for semi-professionals.Our guide will be happy to give you a demonstration. The ride finishes up at TANCAJ (1515 masl.)
