PERU - BOLIVIA 15/D 14/N - THE MESSENGERS OF TAWANTINSUYO TOUR

Machu Picchu is located on the Vilcanota River, which has its birthplace in the Southern Andean Mountain Range between Cusco and Puno. Lake Titicaca is where you’ll find Puno, the largest city on the Lake. The Island of the Sun is at the other end of the Lake, near Copacabana, Bolivia. The capital of the Inca Empire and of Inca culture was Cusco. The Qeros tribe is sometimes considered the last of the Incas, because of their ancient culture.

Day: 1 :Lima
When you arrive in Lima, we will take you over to your hotel in the picturesque district on Miraflores, which is close to the sea.

Day: 2 : LIMA –CUSCO 3250masl.).:
You will fly up to Cusco in the morning. In the afternoon, you will tour of the ancient Imperial City, visiting the Koricancha (Temple of the Sun), and other Incan and colonial highlights.

Day: 3:CUSCO –VALLE SAGRADO :
After breakfast we will head out to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where we will visit the towns and the Incan archeological sites at Chincheros, Ollantaytambo, and Chinchero Pucamarca )


 Day: 4 :OLLANTAYTAMBO –PUEBLO MACHUPICCHU
After breakfast, we will catch the 7:45am train from Ollantaytambo to Machu Picchu. It is a 2 hour train ride. When we reach the town of Aguas Calientes, we will jump on the bus that takes us right up to the ruins. We can tour the world famous archeological site, and visit Huayna Picchu Mtn. In the afternoon, we’ll head back down to Aguas Calientes where we can relax and jump in the hot springs.

Day: 5: PUEBLO MACHUPICCHU-PAUCARTAMBO :
After breakfast, we’ll board the 8:30 am train to Ollantaytambo, and switch over to our bus which will take us to the market town of Pisac. After Pisac, we’ll head up toward Paucartambo, stopping along the way at the Inkawasi Lodge, which is a non-profit foundation formed to help out children.

Days: 6-7-8 :QUEROS NATION :
We trek with llamas up to the village of Qeros, which is an original Incan town. There we can participate in spiritual ceremonies and get to know the people. Qeros is at an altitude of 4500masl.

Day: 9 :Free day :
Day 9 is a free day in Cusco, when you’ll be able to relax and go shopping if you like.

Day: 10 :CUSCO _PUNO :
On day 10, we will take the bus up into the altiplano región, heading for Puno and Lake Titicaca. We will stop along the way to visit the ancient site of Sillustani and get to know the pre-Incan Colla culture. We will spend the night in Puno.

Day: 11:PUNO –LAGO TITICACA –UROS :
On day 11, we will take a boat ride on the highest navigable lake in the world. We will visit the famous islands of Uros, the floating island, and Takile.

Day: 12:PUNO –COPACABANA BOLIVIA -ISLA DEL SOL
After breakfast, we will take the bus from Puno to the border between Peru and Bolivia. After crossing over, we will head into the beautiful town of Copacabana. In the afternoon, we’ll jump on a boat and visit the Island of the Sun, It is a magical place with fantastic views of the Cordillera Real, the Royal Andean Mountain Range of Bolivia.

Day: 13:ISLA DEL SOL – COPACABANA-LA PAZ BOLIVIA :
From Copacabana, we will take the bus into the capital city of La Paz. In La Paz, we can tour the city, and enjoy the sights.

Day: 14.LA PAZ –TIAWANACO –PUNO- JULIACA :
After breakfast, we will travel to the ancient capital of the Tiawanaco culture, where the ruins are older than the Incas. Then we will cross the border back into Peru at Desaguadero. From there it is on to Puno, where we will share a farewell dinner and spend the night.


Day: 15: After breakfast on this final day of the tour, we will take you to the airport in Juliaca, where you will catch your hour long flight back to Lima. From there you will fly back home.

You will have your guide for 15 days and he/she will be fluent in English, Spanish, and Quechua.
*TRANSPORTATION:
Airlne tickets within Peru (Lima – Cusco, Juliaca – Lima ) .
We also provide a prívate bus for the whole 15 days.
On Lake Titicaca we provide prívate boats both in Puno and Copacabana.
And your train tickets to Machu Picchu.
*LLAMAS:
Llamas are supplied to carry your pack on your one day trek to Qeros.
*LODGING:
11 nights of lodging in 3 star hotels,
one night of lodging in a cabin,
and 3 days of camping out. ( camping equipment provided.)
*ACTIVITY:
We’ll visit the Inkawasi Center, which the” INKAS CHURIN “set up to help poor children..
*INCAN PRIEST :
If you choose to take part in the ceremony that will take place on the trek to the Qeros nation. (optional )

HORSE: green broke saddle horse for the trek to Qeros.
