DAY 1 : CUSCO –PISAC (2800masl.) OLLANTAYTAMBO (2700 masl.) :
Excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Our tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas begins at 8:00am with a visit to Sacsayhuaman. Next we will go to Qenqo, Tambomachy and Pucapucara. Then it is through Ccorao and down to the sacred Vilcanota River. We’ll cross the river and enter Pisaq, and go to the famous Pisaq market, where you’ll apprecite all the different handmade natural textiles and a great assortment of other local crafts. We will visit the impressive Incan ruins above town. As we move on down river, we will pass through Urubamba where we will have lunch. Next is the old Inca town of Ollantaytambo, where we will explore the Incan archeological complex, constructed at the entrance to the valley to protect against possible invasion from the jungle tribes, It is made of terrace upon terrace of gigantic, finely honed Incan stones. We will be able to walk the narrow cobble-stoned streets, and see how this ancient military, cultural, and religious center was laid out by the Incas. We will stay overnight in our hotel in Ollantaytambo.

DAY 2 : OLLANTAYTAMBO ( 2750 masl)- HANCACALLE (3200masl).-YURAC RUMI :
We will start out early from Ollantaytambo (4:00am) in our private bus toward the Valley of Vilcabamba, located in the province of Vilcabamba, in the department of Vilcabamba, 250 klm. from Cusco. We will cross over the HABRA MALAGA PASS (4200masl.), where you will see enormous blocks of ice because the cold at this altitude is so intense.
From there we will head down into the Valley of La Convencion, passing through the towns of Alfamayu, Amaybamba, Huyro, Huayopata, and Quintalpata, finallly arriving at Sta. Teresa. There we will cross the river to Chaullay. At Chaullay is the confluence of the Vilcabamba River and the Urubamba River. (1890masl.) From there we start up hill again toward Lucuma, capital of the district of Vilcabamba. We will keep going until we reach Huancacalle , where we will rest up and have lunch. In the afternoon we will visit the Incan archeological sites of Vitcos (or Rosaspata.) and Yurac Rumi where we will camp. .

DAY 3 : HUANCACALLE (3200masl.) – JASUTINA PASS (4000 masl.) –RACA CHACA (3900 masl.):
We will head out of Huancacalle in the direccion of Totora Huayco , ascending to the highest point of our journey, Jasutina Pass, which is 4000masl. It should take us about 4 hours to cover the 9 klm. There we will enjoy a high mountain lunch. After lunch we head down to the small community of Racachaca (3900masl.) It is about a 3 hour hike. There we will pitch camp in the shadow of the beautiful 5000m. snow-capped Mt.Sacsara. The views are unforgettable. We can also visit the primary school at Racachaca.
DAY :4Huanca calle – Jasutina Pass(trek)10 klm PASS (4400masl) MUTUYPATA (2500masl.) :
We will get strted in the morning at around 7:00am., when we begin our 2 hour ascent to the Pumaccasa Pass. There we will see the Yanacocha Lagoon. From there we’ll go through the Tullutacana Pass, which is not very far from Pumaccasa, where we will have fantastic view of Mt. Pumacillo and Mt. Sacasara, and the high mountain Lake Soyroccocha. Soon we will go climb to the Mojón Pass, which is the highest point on our trek. From there the snow-capped mountains of Veronica and Salkantay are visible. You can even see the Incan citadel of Machu Picchu.

DAY 5: MUTUYPATA 2500(masl) – YANATILE (350masl) - SANTA TERESA (2250masl.)- AGUAS CALIENTES (2400masl) :
We’ll take off from Mutuypata at 6:00 a.m, heading down through the forests for four hours until we reach the town of Yanatile. This is tropical rain forest with Inca trails which cut through them. There will be coffee plantations and exotic tropical fruit to found on the banks of the Sacsara and the Mauccachaca Rivers. We will also be able to observe the magnificent flora and fauna of the spectacular valley. The town of Yanatile is located at 2350masl, and it is there that we will board our bus for the ride over to Sta.Teresa and hydroelectric plant, where we can catch the train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo). There , at the base of Machu Picchu, we will spend the night in our hotel.

DAY 6: AGUAS CALIENTES - MACHU PICCHU ARCHEOLOGICAL CENTER – CUSCO :
Early in the morning we will take the bus from Aguas Calientes up the ruins. There we will have a 5 hour guided tour of all the differnet sectors. If you choose, you can climb up Huayna Picchu. In the afternoon we will return to Aguas Calientes for lunch. Then we will take the train back to Cusco and relax in our hotel.
